Kids Who Code
Kids Who Code programme was an intensive 40 hour coding project that opened doors to the world of technology for 17 children, aged 7-12. Over several weeks, these young tech enthusiasts mastered the basics of coding, built their own websites, and even created custom games, proving that age is no barrier to innovation!
With the expert guidance of an inspiring tech teacher, each child's confidence and technical skills flourished. Thanks to the generous support of Our Elba and Raspberry Pi, every participant received monitors, keyboards, and other essential equipment, laying the foundation for their future tech journeys.
The overwhelming success of this pilot programme inspired us to expand, leading to three additional coding programmes. To date, we have supported 70 young people in the community, each equipped with the tools they need—monitors, keyboards, webcams, and more—to continue their coding adventures from home. Through "Kids Who Code," we are shaping a generation of future tech leaders, igniting a passion for digital creation and innovation in our community.
“I got this amazing chance to learn coding, and I actually made my own game!” shared Ibrahim, age 11. “I didn’t think I’d be able to do something like this. It was tricky, but when I saw my game work on the screen and my friends played, it was the best feeling! Now I want to make even more games from home since I have all the stuff to keep going. Coding is so cool, and I feel like I can do so much with it! Thank you, Beyond the Bias!”
